A deaf Speech on the Rohingya Genocide (2012 and 2017)
The Rohingya genocide of 2012 and 2017 remains one of the most serious humanitarian crises of recent times. Thousands of innocent people lost their lives, villages were destroyed, and many families were forced to flee their homes. Millions of Rohingya sought safety in neighboring countries, especially Bangladesh.
The Rohingya community has used many strategies to raise awareness of their crisis. Survivors have shared their personal stories, documented human rights violations, organized peaceful campaigns, created documentaries, used social media platforms, and worked with humanitarian organizations and journalists to inform the world about their suffering.
Today, we remember the victims and call on the international community to support justice, human rights, and a peaceful future for all affected people. We must continue to speak for those whose voices have been silenced and encourage compassion, understanding, and humanitarian action
