This is our beloved Merullah (မြင်းလွှတ်မြို့), known as Nyaung Pin Market (ညောင်ပင်ဈေး).Near the market, where you now see only ashes, once stood our precious mosque and madrasa, where classes from Grade 1 to 12 Jamat were taught. In 2017, the Myanmar junta military together with Rakhine civilians burned down the entire market, the madrasa and the surrounding villages.
Now, nothing remains, only the memories and the deep longing for this place that will forever live in our hearts. Every corner of this land reminds us of our childhood, our teachers and the peaceful days we once shared. Though the shops, mosque, madrasa and villages are gone, their memories and our spirit remain strong, the love for our homeland can never be destroyed.
