Been sharing a bunch of images from my trip to Europe so let's bring it back home to Pittsburgh for a colorful view on this overcast morning.
This is another view of that amazing sunrise that I captured the day before I left when I was down at the fountain in Point State Park. I always want to capture at least ONE decent sunrise from here each spring, and I was lucky that this particular morning worked out.
It's kind of a high risk, high reward type thing. If the color pops but the water is choppy, you've kinda wasted a sunrise. Also there isn't a ton of variability when it comes to compositions, so I always want to make sure that it's a really good sunrise. On this particular morning the water was calm and the color was amazing.
This is actually one of the last images that I captured, when the color had started to fade a bit but the light from the rising sun was beginning to illuminate the back of the scene. That glow behind the city was perfect.
Coming up next: a view from inside the Siena Cathedral.
