Ebisu Iwa and Daikoku Rock are two iconic rock formations located off the coast of Yoichi, a town on the western coast of Hokkaido, Japan. They are revered for their striking natural beauty and cultural significance, often serving as symbols of the rugged coastal scenery of this region. The two rocks together embody the dual blessings of good fortune, wealth, and safe seas. In the past, these formations may have been focal points for rituals and prayers by local fishermen, who relied on divine protection for bountiful catches and safe returns from the treacherous northern seas. The coast of Yoichi, where Ebisu Iwa and Daikoku Iwa are found, is renowned for its rugged beauty, with dramatic cliffs, crashing waves, and a wide view of the Sea of Japan. Overlooking the gigantic Megalong Valley, Cahill's Lookout is one of the most impressive lookouts in the Blue Mountains, but without the big tourist crowds. Quietly tucked away along the westernmost point of Cliff Drive, the lookout offers breathtaking views of the valley, Megalong Head, Boars Head Rock and the Narrow Neck Peninsula. A short but scenic 500m walking track beings visitors to this beautiful lookout, which consists of one large viewing platform and two smaller ones on each side. The walk also passes the Boars Head Lookout, from where you can can enjoy views of a unique rock formation that resembles, you guessed it, a boar's head. And it actually does, with a bit of healthy imagination. There are two things that make the Cahill's Lookout unique compared to most other lookout points in the area. Firstly, despite the fact that this lookout is one of the prettiest lookout points in the Blue Mountains, the big crowds haven't yet discovered this magnificent spot. Which is great, because it allows visitors to really enjoy the serenity of the area. Secondly, unlike lookouts such as Echo Point and Lincoln's Rock that overlook the Jamison Valley, Cahill's Lookout faces the Megalong Valley, which provides a somewhat different scenery. The Narrow Neck Peninsula, clearly visible from the viewing platform, is the plateau in the middle that divides the two large valleys.

There is a stunning formation known as Australia Rock located at the northern end of Surf Beach in Narooma on the far south coast of NSW. It can be seen at the bar crossing at Wadonga Head, where the inlet empties into the sea. With a bit of imagination you can see the shape of Australia cut into the rock wall. It was accidentally created many years ago when a ship was tied to the rock with large chains to prevent it from washing away. The chains wore away the rock during rough seas and it has been known as Australia Rock ever since. However with constant salt, wind and ocean waves it is gradually changing so it will not be there forever.
