Exciting new opportunity! ✨

I’m thrilled to share that my photography is now on display and available for purchase at The Watershed Precinct in Mawson Lakes, Adelaide.

The best encouragement! I sold two prints while I was setting up the exhibition! It’s a wonderful sign that my work is already connecting with people.

If you’re in the area, I’d love you to stop by and have a look.

Hidden amongst the damp moss and forest floor of Kangaroo Island are some of nature’s smallest winter treasures.

Each winter brings a wonderful display of native orchids. This collection was photographed over a period of three years, capturing the incredible diversity and delicate beauty of these remarkable wildflowers found across the island.

Note: I’ve included the common and scientific names of each flower in each image comments ✨🌸

WHITE FRONTED CHATS
While enjoying a coffee outside at the Lavender Farm on Kangaroo Island, I noticed a pair of White-fronted Chats darting through the lavender bushes, searching for tiny insects among the flowers. These little birds are commonly found in coastal saltmarshes, grasslands and open shrublands, and they play an important role in controlling insect populations.

18th April 2026.... After sunset there was an orange diffused Aurora that complimented the lichen growing on remarkable rocks. I used a warm light to illuminate the cavern. I kept this quite dramatic as the storm was rolling in over head.

11th May 2024, Vivonne Bay- Kangaroo Island

As it’s been some time since we’ve seen a display like this, I wanted to share this beauty I captured during the intense geomagnetic storm of May 2024. In this image, I captured the prominent auroral rays dancing along the coastline. I particularly like the reflections on the wet sand in front of me.

The beams are produced when charged particles from the Sun interact with oxygen and nitrogen atoms in Earth’s upper atmosphere. Variations in Earth’s magnetic field concentrate these particles into narrow columns, creating the characteristic curtain-like structures and luminous rays. The strong reds and greens visible are produced by emissions occurring at different atmospheric altitudes.

I still feel very fortunate to have witnessed and photographed this remarkable event, which stands as a record of one of the strongest Aurora Australis displays observed in recent decades.

my settings were - iso 1000 - F1.4 - 5sec
