Meet Stu, the farm cat. Hope everyone has had a great Christmas and New Year and ready to hit 2025!
Wow its been a while, I have been working on a studio in my little garage, visiting grandchildren (2 more coming this year!) - such precious moments. Also been working on my little van so that I can camp in it with portable solar. So excited for a brilliant 2025.

The wonder of a toddler. As a grannie its so good to be able to immerse yourself in their journey and marvel at their inquisitiveness and eagerness to explore. Not your typical portrait but to me I see the intent in looking. I don't often do B&W but every now & then I fiddle with a B&W or tonal picture to see the effect. Also love this little outfit, one I made for her mum Paige, its so cute!

After photographing a young child I coaxed my pup into a few photos. A treat or two and she sat for me. Just played with a few with 1 light. 85cm double diffused octabox to her right (90 degrees) with and AD300 on 1/4 power i think. The light technically should probably be on other side of her face but I love it. I do have some with her facing me as well, which is mostly what I was trying.
Nikon Z7; 85mm lens; ISO200; f6.3; 1/400sec. This is sooc with just a light vignette added. I want to play more and get creative, and need to buy her a new collar for photo sessions 😀

Out and about on the water yesterday with AquaMarine Adventures - Port Stephens whale watching. Matt was a great pilot steering us out to sea and following a pair of whales as they headed north for about 20 mins. So exciting, unfortunately they weren't in a playful mood but it was still exciting to watch them, we caught a few tails, blows, fins and glimpes of underbelly as they rolled around in the water. There were a couple of splashes but all I got was the water! All in all still a great fun experience and a great team to go searching with. I managed a few tail shots and apparently you can upload them to a website that keeps track of the tail sightings. Each tail is unique with nics etc.
Absolutely a trip on the water in the AquaMarine Adventures - Port Stephens boat which has you nice and close to the water, a great vantage point to watch the whales roll along.

Family Photoshoot at Gus Beutel Lookout.
What a wonderful afternoon with this gorgeous family. We had a bit of a late start when one young fellow decided to go on an adventure on the way 😁 however the view, the big tree and the lovely park area enhanced some beautiful shots for this family to treasure.

I had fun yesterday enjoying a family shoot at the gorgeous Gus Beutel Lookout, yesterday. Photos to coming soon. We finished and it was getting cold but I couldn't resist staying for the sun to set. Very few clouds in the sky not a specatular sunset (last night would have been awesome!). Just after the sun went down I turned around for some pretty pinks and blues facing east. A great place for a picnic on a blanket, there were a couple braving the cool evening.
