Two new graduated filters have landed in the JetMag Pro 95MAG system, and choosing between them comes down to one question: how high does your subject rise into the frame?
The NiSi JetMag Pro Medium and Soft Graduated FS GND8 (0.9) 95MAG are both 3 stop graduated neutral density filters. They pull brightness out of the sky while leaving the foreground alone, so you hold the whole scene in one exposure instead of bracketing and blending it back together later.
MEDIUM, 1/2 GRADUATION
The transition sits between soft and hard. It holds definition along the horizon while still blending down into the foreground. This is the one for coastal seascapes, city skylines, treelines and low ridges that break the horizon but stay close to it.
SOFT, 1/3 GRADUATION
Only the upper third of the frame carries the full effect. The long, gentle blend passes over mountains, trees and tall buildings that carry well up the frame, so they keep their natural brightness with no defined edge to mask out afterwards.
