The Witch Head Nebula (IC 2118)
This incredibly faint reflection nebula, believed to be an ancient supernova remnant, is illuminated by the supergiant star Rigel in Orion ✨
One of my dream deep-space targets since I started shooting the night sky. This was my third attempt and without an astro-modified camera, those faint surrounding clouds should actually show more red tones.
Stacked from ~200 shots (about 4 hours of data) 📸
Captured around 2 years ago, but I held off posting it, waiting to get those red clouds just right… but honestly, it’s still an amazing view.
