“Should I,” a piece that has been close to my heart since my 20s. It’s a reflection of my experiences, particularly during a time when I was immersed in mental health work, witnessing the struggles that so many face.
This song resonates deeply, especially for those who have navigated the complexities of domestic violence and the emotional turmoil that often accompanies it. I wrote it in 2009, inspired by the beautiful souls who took the time to support me—those who believed in my vision. A heartfelt thank you to and for investing their time and talent in recording this piece. It truly takes a team to bring a song to life, and I’m grateful for everyone who played a part in this journey.
“Should I, should I run and hide?”—these lyrics capture the essence of healing and confronting one’s fears.
Recorded at what was once Pepper Tone Studios, now known as Vault Studios, this song is a testament to the power of collaboration and community. A special shout-out to the Australian Songwriters Conference for opening doors to my music and sharing my story.
As a singer-songwriter, I pour my passion into creating original music that blends genres and eras, showcasing my unique style and husky voice. I would love to hear your thoughts on “Should I.” How does it resonate with you?
