Paradise Riflebird (Ptiloris paradiseus). Mapleton Falls National Park, Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

I was super excited to find this Riflebird in the rainforest, but it was very difficult to photograph, high up in the canopy.

You can also see one of the several Spangled Drongos that were harassing the Riflebird at the time.

The Riflebird's call can be heard as a harsh screech at the start of the audio I recorded from the day.

A Brahminy Kite (Haliastur indus) did multiple fly-bys, trying to hassle a cormorant out of its catch.

I feel like these days everybody wants to see the close-up portrait wildlife photograph and I do like these too, however I enjoy taking the occasional widened view photo where you can see the animal in its surrounding environment.
