Three different species. One family.
Most people don’t realise this, but Australia is home to three species of birds-of-paradise — the riflebirds:

• Paradise Riflebird
• Magnificent Riflebird
• Victoria’s Riflebird

Each one is a master of display! When the light hits right, it’s almost hard to believe they’re real. The females on the other hands are quite subtly colours and do all the nesting and raising of the chicks. The males just show off from their display perches 😅

🥁 New day, new beat from the Palm Cockatoo!

He seemed to pick up the tempo a little this time around. One of the very few animals known to use tools for drumming, he carefully selects a branch, snaps it off, and turns it into a drumstick before putting on a show.

Two baby Purple-crowned Lorikeets patiently waiting for Mum and Dad to come home. 💚

Growing up inside a tree hollow, these little ones spend days peeking out at the world before they’re brave enough to take their first flight.

For now, they’re keeping watch… and hoping the next set of wings belongs to their parents. 🐦

Nature’s version of “Are we there yet?” 😄
