Since starting this journey, the ultimate goal has always been to go from an online store to a physical space of my own.

This cute little building has been sitting vacant for months, and every time I'm in town I'm pretty sure I leave a new set of nose prints on the window. 🤣

Reality is, it's still a dream for now. Something for the future when the time is right... whenever that may be!

But that hasn't stopped me daydreaming about what it could look like. 🤎

So, here's the concept I came up with while letting my imagination get a little carried away...

Apparently I'm celebrating two babies today. 🥹🤎

My actual baby turned 6 today... and my little business baby officially turned ONE!

A year ago today I hit publish on my website and opened my online print store. I had no idea what the next 12 months would look like — and, if we're being fair, I still don't really know what I'm doing half the time. 🤣

And what a year it's been.

Somewhere amongst the prints, calendars, exhibitions, publications, competitions and new collections, I also packed up my life after nearly 20 years in the Territory and brought this little business home to WA — learning a completely new landscape and finding my feet all over again.

There have been highs, lows, plenty of lessons and more than a few moments where I've wondered what on earth I'm doing, but I'm bloody proud that I kept going.

To everyone who has bought something, shared a post, left a comment, visited the website or simply followed along — thank you. It genuinely means more than you probably realise. 🤎

Happy 1st birthday, little business.

Still creating. Still learning. Still finding my feet. And definitely still dreaming about where this might all lead.

Not every creative adventure goes to plan, and not every day is full of abstract colours and a little bit of magic.

Sometimes the behind-the-scenes looks a little different.
Sometimes the workhorse decides it needs a holiday from driving. 🤦🏼‍♀️

After a few weeks off the road, an unexpected extended sleepover at the mechanic, a fresh set of WA plates, and a bit of TLC, it's finally back where it belongs.

Now it's time to get back onto those dirt roads, chase new patterns, and see what hidden abstracts are waiting. 🧡

Sometimes, all it takes is a different perspective.

From above, familiar landscapes become something else entirely.

A little behind the scenes...

One of the questions I get asked most is whether the colours in my images are real.

The answer is yes.

My editing isn't about creating colours that don't exist. It's about revealing what the camera captured but a RAW file doesn't always show on its own.

Through careful editing, I bring forward the natural colours, textures and hidden patterns already present in the landscape—helping the image reflect what I experienced from above.

Sometimes the most extraordinary abstract art isn't created in Lightroom at all. It's created by salt, water, earth and time.

That's the part that keeps drawing me back.

Every now and then, I put the search for abstract patterns on pause.

Days like this are a reminder that the beauty of Western Australia isn't just found in its landscapes—sometimes it's swimming quietly beneath the surface.

Watching this mother and calf from above was one of those moments that makes you forget to press the shutter for a second and simply take it all in.

It's a different side of what I photograph, but one I'll never get tired of.

Some evenings stay with you.

A room filled with conversations, artwork, and a little extra magic.

Thank you to everyone who came to the opening of Great Southern Land. Seeing people connect with my work made all the hours behind the camera worthwhile.

A little milestone.

Next week, my work will be hanging alongside three incredible Western Australian artists as part of Great Southern Land at Oxford Street Gallery, Perth.

What started as a camera, a drone, and a curiosity about the patterns hidden in the landscape has somehow led here.

I'm proud to be exhibiting a selection of abstract aerial works that explore the colours, textures and shifting edges of Western Australia from above.

A huge thank you to Paul at Perth Pro Lab for the beautiful printing and Chris for bringing the work together through framing. Seeing these pieces come to life beyond the screen has been something special.

If you're in Perth, the exhibition opens on 2 July and runs through to 18 July.

Still feels a little surreal seeing my name on the poster.
