Apart from creating authentic, story‑driven art, I also love branding and packaging, bringing a whole visual world to life from nothing but an idea. This project is one of my favourites because every element was built completely from scratch as part of my Diploma of Graphic Design studies.

Bow Wow Bites is a playful, eco‑conscious dog treat brand created for modern pet owners who value natural ingredients, ethical sourcing, and sustainable packaging. I developed the full brand identity including the name, colour palette, logo, packaging, marketing assets, and pitch document. All centred around clarity, personality, and environmental responsibility.

The final packaging takes the form of a dog‑house‑inspired cardboard box designed to stand out on shelves while reinforcing the brand’s sustainable values. Bright colours, bold typography, and a friendly visual language help communicate trust, joy, and quality.

Supported by audience research, competitive analysis, and design thinking, this project showcases my passion for thoughtful branding and packaging that not only looks good but tells a meaningful story.

✨ Threads of My Story ✨

This artwork tells the story of my journey, the stages I’ve moved through, the lessons I’ve learnt, and the person I’ve grown into.

The arches along the bottom represent the different versions of myself over time. Each one holds a chapter of my life: the highs, the lows, the moments of strength, and the challenges that shaped me. Their patterns are all different because every stage taught me something unique.

The line separating the arches from the rest of the piece show how our past is always connected to who we become, but it doesn’t have to define our future. We can honour where we’ve come from without being held by it. Our history shapes us, but it doesn’t decide who we get to be.

At the centre is the person I am today. Grounded, growing, and more myself than ever. The rings within the circle represent the life lessons I’ve gathered along the way. Each ring marks a moment of clarity, healing, or self‑understanding that helped me step into this version of me.

The surrounding designs reflect the connections and meaningful moments that have influenced my path. Some people come into our lives for a reason, some for a season, and some for a lifetime. Each interaction, whether brief or lasting, leaves an imprint. These shapes represent the people and experiences that helped me grow, shift, or see myself differently.

This piece is about becoming, choosing myself, embracing change, and recognising that every stage, every lesson, and every connection has played a part in who I am today.

Just placed the order for my very first batch of prints, a small milestone that feels pretty huge. I’m excited to finally see my artwork off the screen and in my hands. I’ll be donating one to my workplace too, which makes this next step even sweeter.

If you’re interested in a print with a meaningful story behind it, feel free to reach out. I love creating pieces that carry heart, culture, and intention.

Creating my personal branding has been such a grounding process. I started by building a few moodboards based on my personality, what I’m drawn to, and the kind of feeling I want my work to carry. It was almost like writing an ethos for myself, something that reflects who I am as a designer and an individual.

From there, I did some mind mapping to dig deeper into the themes and ideas that feel true to me. Once I had that clarity, I moved into sketching rough concepts on paper. I then chose a few favourites to digitise and develop further.

I explored different colours, forms and layouts, refining the logo until it felt intentional and aligned with my identity. My primary typeface is modern and clean, and the handwritten typography ties in naturally with my Indigenous‑inspired logo mark, adding a personal and expressive touch.

Seeing everything come together in mockups helped me visualise the brand as a whole. Not just a logo, but a visual identity that feels like me.

Hi all, I thought it was a good time to reintroduce myself for anyone who’s new here.

I’m Tayla, a graphic designer and contemporary Indigenous digital artist based in Albury, NSW. I finished my Diploma of Graphic Design with Torrens University in December 2025, but my love for design actually started years earlier when I was working at the Visitor Information Centre in my hometown of Roma, Queensland. That job made me realise how much I enjoyed creating things that helped people connect and feel welcomed.

Since then, I’ve been building my skills, exploring my style, and leaning deeper into storytelling through both design and art. I create contemporary Indigenous digital pieces that carry meaning, reflect culture, and share a sense of place.

I’m still early in my freelance journey, but I’m excited to start working with individuals and small businesses who want their brand to feel intentional, thoughtful, and visually strong. Collaboration is something I’m really looking forward to and understanding the “why” behind a project and turning it into something clear and impactful.

I’m excited to share more of my journey, my work and what’s coming next!

Bedding Down

At the end of the day, the goanna makes its way into the gum tree to bed down for the night. High above the land, it listens and watches as Country settles. Kangaroos move across the bushlands below, while the tree offers shelter. This work reflects the quiet relationship between animals, land, and the cycles that guide them.

The Wayfinder

Guided by instinct and connection, the sea turtle moves through water with purpose. The Wayfinder represents journey, navigation, and the stories carried beneath the surface.

Happy New Year all.

2025 had its ups and downs. Within the last few months alone I completed my Diploma of Graphic Design, started a new career, and experienced the loss of my Pop in September. Creating this digital illustration for him has been part of that process.

A year of growth, reflection, and learning my worth. Stepping into the new year with clarity and gratitude.
