For years i thought that there was a specific way that i had to walk through this life. Society told me that i had to go to school, get an education and decide what i wanted to do for a career, then go to university to further educate myself in this career choice or get an apprenticeship, then get a job in that chosen career path where i would be trapped despite my happiness and sanity until I'm old and grey. I fell victim to the boundaries society restricted me to for years and i found as the years went on i gradually felt very unsatisfied with what life had to offer. What i realised through good and even more so bad life experiences is that i don't need to walk through life following the social normalities of life, i can actually create a different journey and live a life i have always wanted... so thats what i started doing

Some cities you visit. Others stay with you long after you leave.

New York is one of those places.

There’s something about the chaos, the characters, the fleeting moments between strangers, and the feeling that a thousand different stories are unfolding around you at once.

And somehow, no matter how much time passes, there’s always something new to see through the lens.

Back to the city that never stands still. 🗽📸

The thoughts never really stop when you own a business.

You could be sitting on the couch, driving to the shops, or trying to fall asleep, and somehow your brain is still at work.

The emails you haven’t replied to. The jobs you need to finish. The invoices you need to send. The content you need to create. The ideas you don’t want to forget. The next big thing you should probably be working on.

And somewhere in between all of that, you’re trying to figure out how to actually grow the business without running yourself into the ground.

It’s a constant loop of things to do, things you should be doing, and things you haven’t even thought of yet.

Sometimes the hardest part of running a business isn’t the work itself. It’s switching your brain off long enough to enjoy the life you’re building.

Because even when you’re not working, a part of you always is.

And honestly, some days, that’s the hardest part of the whole thing.

The light found the wall.
The shadows found their shape

All I had to do was wait for something to enter the frame

A person walking through the right patch of sunlight…

A shadow falling in exactly the right place…

A shadow falling in exactly the right place…

Nothing was planned.
Nothing was posed

The scene existed for maybe five seconds

Then the light moved,
the person disappeared,
and the composition was gone

That’s probably my favourite part of street photography.
You don’t create the moment.
You just have to notice it.

Perth wears its scars quietly

You can find them in the old brick walls, faded shopfronts or people walking silently between the cracks of the concrete

The real scars of a city aren’t found in its buildings.

They’re found in the people who walk through it.

The people chasing something.
The people who gave up on something.
The people still trying to figure out what’s next

Every face has a story.
Every street has witnessed one

And maybe that’s what I’m really looking for when I photograph this place.

Just the little traces of life that remind us we’re all leaving something behind as we pass through.

Day in, day out, as we get older, Perth keeps changing.

It keeps loving, and so do we.

Fog rolls in and life suddenly gets a little more quiet as the ocean disappears somewhere beyond the grey, and for a little while, everything feels suspended between what was and what comes next.

People still walk the same paths. Swim. Waves keep arriving, one after another, like they’ve been doing long before any of us got here.

But everything else changes.

The faces. The people we used to know. The versions of ourselves we thought would last forever.

Maybe that’s why I like mornings like this.

There’s something comforting about standing beside something that never stops moving.

The tide changes.

So do we.

This was deffs one of those projects where the location does a fair bit of the heavy lifting for those sweeping aerial shots.

Good people, a great project to be part of, maxed out memory cards, drained battery’s, sun stroke and plenty of pretty ridiculous views along the way.

Running a business can feel like having 1447 tabs open in your brain at the same time 🤣

Clients. Emails. Content. Invoices. Ideas. Projects. Things you forgot to do yesterday, the day before and the day before that. Things you suddenly remembered you need to do tomorrow.

That’s why to help me feel productive and like I accomplish things I’ve turned back to a good old-fashioned to-do list.

Not because it magically makes you more productive.

Because it gets the noise out of my head.

Write it down.
Priorise what actually matters.
Knock it out one thing at a time every day

It makes me feel like I don’t need to have the entire business figured out today.

Sometimes I just need to know what the next thing is.

And then do that.
