It has been a minute since I have uploaded something.

I wanted to share my journey of wildlife photos with you over 3 minutes.

It has been such a privilege being able to capture our wildlife (mostly birds)

In the hunter nsw region.

Thank you all that support my page and enjoy the photos I share with you.

I am hoping the weather clears up in the next few days to get back out there.

This year has been a tough one.

I am very grateful to have my photography.

Even more grateful to have people that support me.

A day in the wetlands.

While exploring the wetlands, we spotted this Whistling Kite (Haliastur sphenurus) perched quietly on an old post overlooking the marsh.

It appeared to be enjoying a recent meal while keeping a close watch across the wetlands.

Completely calm and unfazed by our presence.

These birds have such a striking appearance, especially when the light catches their feathers and eyes just right.

Nothing like a nice early morning fog during the sunrise.

Recently I’ve been trying to get out earlier for more sunrise photography, hoping to experience different light and atmosphere compared to my usual sessions.

On this foggy morning I noticed a swamp harrier (Circus approximans) perched quietly on an old fence post deep in the wetlands.

The mist, soft light and silence of the swamp made the whole scene feel cinematic and calm.

Moments like this remind me that wildlife photography isn’t always about action or close encounters.

Sometimes it’s simply about being present at the right place and appreciating the mood nature creates for a few brief seconds.

Locked on.

A Black-shouldered Kite hovering motionless above me, eyes fixed straight to the lens.

After days of difficult weather and flat light, today finally delivered the conditions I had been hoping for.

While out photographing wildlife, I spotted this incredible Black-shouldered Kite hovering directly above me.

For several seconds it seemed almost motionless, perfectly balanced against the wind while staring straight down into the lens.

The detail in the wings, the piercing red eyes, and the clean blue sky made it one of my favourite encounters of the trip so far.

Moments like this are why I love wildlife photography. You can spend hours searching, then suddenly a moment like this happens.

With a short window of no rain we decided to head up north, where we spotted some Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo's (Zanda funerea), which are a large Australian parrot recognized by its black plumage, yellow cheek patches, and yellow tail bands.

This one is possibly a female, as she has a lighter, bone-colored beak and males have black beaks and pinkish-red eye-rings.

Thanks Darryl for drive up mate appreciate it !

It was so dark out there that this photo was taken with 12800 ISO and still increased exposure in lightroom without making it too noisy.

I rarely get to see these birds so it was great find.

(Had to delete my lightroom data so using a temporary standard watermark)

"The horse in the field"

After photographing the tree tunnel driveway nearby, I kept exploring some of the same road and came across this horse standing quietly out in the paddock with a small bird riding along on its back.

What I liked most about the scene was how calm everything felt. No dramatic weather or crazy wildlife moment. Just a simple rural scene that somehow still felt worth stopping for.

The more I explore locally, the more I’m starting to realise you don’t always need rare animals or famous locations to come home with photos you enjoy.

Sometimes it’s just the atmosphere, the light and the feeling of the moment that make a photo memorable.

With the weather still on my side, I decided to go out looking for birds closer to home early this morning and ended up stumbling across this incredible tree tunnel driveway hidden away in the countryside.

Some days photography is about chasing wildlife, sunsets or perfect conditions… and other days it’s just about slowing down enough to notice places you’d normally drive straight past. The way the trees framed the road and pulled your eyes into the distance instantly caught my attention.

It was quiet, overcast and completely still one of those scenes that felt almost cinematic in person. Definitely not what I expected to come home with today, but sometimes the unexpected shots end up being the favourites.

Moments like this are a good reminder that you don’t always need to travel far to find something worth photographing. Especially when I don't have a wide lens and only took the 200-800.

Over the past week and a half, this young Wedge-tailed Eagle has become a familiar face and an unforgettable part of my mornings.

Yesterday he wasn’t there, and it made me realise just how special these encounters really are.

I’m still not certain, but I think this juvenile may be a young male.

Either way, it’s been an absolute privilege getting to spend time photographing you and watching you grow in confidence each day.

Maybe you were just a visitor passing through… or maybe it was my Pop dropping by to say hello, although I’m not sure why he’d choose somewhere 30 minutes away haha.

I hope you live a long, healthy life and grow into one of the most powerful and fearsome eagles in the land.

Thanks for the memories, mate.

Hope you all have a great Friday.

And thank you all for your kind and generous comments along the way.

It has been quite enjoyable being able to photograph birds and escape the darkness.

The White-bellied Sea Eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster)

We all know the Wedge-tailed Eagle rules the inland skies, built for soaring over vast landscapes and taking larger prey.

In contrast, the White-bellied Sea Eagle dominates the coast, gliding over waterways with precision to hunt fish.

Both are incredible birds.

Which one is your pick?

Hope you all have a great Thursday.

Regards, White-Bellied Sea Eagle

Wishing you all a wonderful Wedge-tailed Eagle Wednesday 🦅

Australia’s largest bird of prey, with a wingspan that can stretch over 2 metres and moments like this remind me just how powerful they really are.

This one appears to be a juvenile, with its lighter head and more mottled plumage still growing into that iconic dark, commanding look.

Still learning the skies, but already owning them.
