Take a couple to a dramatic clifftop at golden hour, hand them sweeping river views and cinematic light… then I discover Mel is a bit like me in that being in front of the camera is slightly daunting… this, of course, is completely juxtaposed by Michael who is apparently born to be in front of a lens 👏

Michael leaned into full entertainment mode to keep things light (and make my job easy!), so Mel’s nerves never stood a chance.

That’s Mel and Michael in a nutshell (and the nutshell is completely cracked, mind you 🙊🤣 but I would not have it any other way 🫶).

When two people have this much fun together, all I really have to do is shut up, capture the moments and try not to laugh so hard that the camera shakes 🫨

Opening this gallery back up reminded me why candid work matters so much. While wide landscape crops might not be something you see as often on instagram, photos that capture the real dynamic will never go out of style.

This wedding is going to be an absolute riot and I absolutely cannot wait! 🥂

Since Lily and James are huge art and film photography lovers (their clothing that can only be described as bitchin style Like, look at them! 🤩), the art gallery was a great choice.

We wanted their session to feel like a modern art piece of its own, which required a little patience timing shots between the busy crowds.

Shot through character-rich vintage glass and edited with soft, painterly pastel tones. Complete with a natural rainbow flare courtesy of the glass and sun ✨🌈

Thanks for making the trek all the way up from Sydney! It was selfishly well worth it for me haha

My formula for portraits is pretty simple:

1 - Put you in the best light ✨
2 - Give you a subtle action (so you forget you’re being photographed)
3 - Take the guided shot (cue the veil magic)
4 - Catch the frame after when you burst out laughing too

The secret to natural, comfortable photos is giving the brain something else to focus on 😎

The styled shoot at Dalwood Estate turned out to be the ideal cover story… 😏

Why? Because Jordan knew the only way to get Mads to her own proposal without sparking suspicion was to make her think attending the shoot was her idea. She is type A and you best believe nothing would ever get past her!

Since Jordan usually avoids the camera, Mads had to twist his arm to get him to go… completely unaware that he was *reluctantly* playing along the whole time, secretly working with Lake Mac Jewellers.

When Amanda from Lake Mac Jewellers came to me with the plan for my friend Mads to be proposed to? Immediately yes, I was there 🥂

Colour is how we see the world. Black and white? That’s how we get to feel the world. As much as I love vibrant colours, you don’t need color when the feeling is this loud.

From the chaos of the confetti and the puppy cuddles to the quiet cinematic moments hidden under the veil… when you strip the noise away, what’s left is pure connection. And the best part of my job is watching that… watching a couple be so present with one another that the only things left are light, shadow and two people melting into their celebration.

Sarah and Ed got engaged on their tinny on the water during an 11 month trip around Australia. Since water is such a central element to who they are, we had to have their engagement session by the water!

And since they are such adventurous people, we had to capture Ed’s legendary party trick on camera so they have that memory forever!
