A special birth this was ♥️

I first met Kayla when delivering her gorgeous boy Acre as a student midwife years ago! To be asked back into her birth space in a different capacity…. of course I said yes!! Nic & Kayla have a way of making you feel like part of their family, I am forever grateful to have been asked to capture some of their most sacred moments together, and to have been given the green light to show their birth in all its unfiltered glory!

What was a planned homebirth turned extraordinary (and medically essential) hospital birth, Nicola roared the most beautiful boy Rivvy J into this world with incredible strength and determination. Forever in awe of you Nic!

Meanwhile, I got to wander around the room, snapping sacred moments and chit chatting with the very 4 year old boy I had delivered as a student midwife all these years ago (how surreal is that?!) Sweet Acey was a champion support person, following me around with his iPad comparing images (🤣🥹) reading birth affirmations aloud, and being so attentive to his mummy’s needs. What an incredible boy you are Acre.

Outdoor newborn pics 👌🏼🌊✨

No pressure to keep little ones sitting still. No expectations for toddlers to smile at the camera. Just room to explore, splash, cuddle, collect shells, and simply be themselves.

Turns out running a photography business, chasing a toddler, editing galleries, and keeping up with Instagram are not all equally achievable at the same time. 😅

I have the most beautiful backlog of galleries that I’ve been meaning to share, but social media has definitely taken a back seat lately.

So, here’s your reminder that I’m still here, still photographing beautiful families, and still completely obsessed with the galleries hitting your inboxes!

These images are a few more favourites from my Mother’s Day Mini Sessions, and I honestly haven’t stopped thinking about them. The cuddles, the giggles, the chaos, the love… everything that makes motherhood so wonderfully messy and beautiful. I mean just look at Em and her gorgeous Sunny girl! 🌞

I’m so grateful to the mums who stepped in front of my camera and trusted me to capture this season of life. What a privilege it is to freeze these moments in time.

Mother’s Day minis are officially over, and I had the most whimsical time prancing in the forest and along the coast with you all 💛✨ Thank you for trusting me with your memories! Each session looks and feels a little different based on lighting, weather, rug selections and tone… but all hold so much love and tenderness! I hope you look back at your images in years to come and remember the feeling of holding your little loves close, the way they smelt, laughed, held onto your shirt. 😭😭 How special it is to carve a small piece of time to capture you just as you are. Happy belated Mother’s Day to all my beautiful clients.
