A catch-up with Michael Evans early this morning at Yellingbo yielded the critically endangered Helmeted Honeyeater, a White Naped Honeyeater, a Sacred Kingfisher, a Little Wattlebird, and a Spotted Pardalote.

Along for the ride, were the menacing and watchful eyes of the Anti-Landrover fraternity too!

'The Serendipity of Black and White Photography' is a portfolio of 100x images taken in, around, and even under London!

It's aim is not to be presented as 'yet another' photography book of that famous city, but rather to be an exploration of what occurs between brain and eye, when images are presented in black and white as distinct from color, especially when looking at some familiar scenes that we have viewed previously.

Without color, our perspective changes and we have to rely on contrast, light, shade and tonal differences to interpret what is in front of us; the book includes 4 short essays that provide context to how we look at a world in monochrome, and with metadata for each image and a generous introduction written by none-other than Michael Evans (Photographer), what more could you want!!

This is a project that took 15 years to complete - and so it is definitely planned that Volume 2 (Melbourne), will be a lot quicker to put together....
