This is the final image from our family trip to North Haven.

Instead of looking out through the heads into the Pacific Ocean, this was shot from the end of the breakwater looking back towards Laurieton, which is the main town near North Haven. That mountain in the background is North Brother Mountain, which I showed the expansive views from in an earlier post.

It truly is a magnificent place to relax for a few days, even a week. We loved every minute of it. And, I hope you enjoyed my images from Billabong Zoo and North Haven, NSW.

The Sun's final light just breaking through the heavy cloud, and a brilliant blue light contrasting the Sun and dark scene. Much like my previous image, the contrast drew me in. Rather than looking out towards the heads like my last two images, this is facing slightly inland towards Dunbogan and Camden Haven.

I don't know what possessed me to take this image. Maybe it was the heavily contrasting lights against the dark scene?

I'm a big fan of contrasting colours, and contrast in general. It's why I love black and white photography. But, sometimes it's nice to see the scene as it was - dark, moody, and brilliantly lit by a heavily contrasting colour.

This is the beautiful Camden Haven River Inlet taken from the North Haven side. It's a lovely walk out to the end of the breakwater, though it's quite a long walk depending on where you start from.

This particular afternoon was magic, in my opinion, and I really enjoyed capturing the local landscape.

Happy Valentine's Day!

No Valentine's theme for this image, though.

Grants Beach, sometimes known as North Haven Beach, is a beautiful location. This section of the beach is unpatrolled. On this day, it was extremely windy and the surf was wild. Suffice it to say, we all stayed out of the water.

The harsh midday Sun made for difficult photography, and so I once again practiced the art of seeing. Textures, shapes, objects, location. This bit of driftwood caught my eye, and the rest is history.

If I wasn't afraid of heights, this would have been easier. But, I held it together for the stunning views from North Brother Mountain lookout just west of North Haven, NSW.

The mountain is almost half a kilometre tall. The drive up was easier than the drive back down. 😬
