Come on down for our 6th Cars & Coffee!

Comment “PARK” to secure a guaranteed spot. We expect interest to be huge and the cost of this location is significant, so we’re offering a small fee for each car wanting a spot within the curated display, to help us keep these events running and free for spectators!

There will be parking outside the shed for anyone who wants to come down, but if you don’t want to display your car, please park on Cochranes Road as space is limited.

First thing on the RWC checklist. Tyres.

The E34 has been away for two months (more on that next video) and we are finally moving through the list.

Continental MaxContact MC7 going on today and honestly seeing this car on fresh rubber for the first time felt like a proper milestone. The old tyres were over a decade old!!!

Your iPhone is already a cinema camera. You just don’t know it yet.

Download Final Cut Camera or Blackmagic Camera. Free app, does the heavy lifting.

Dial in these settings:
→ HEVC (H.265)
→ Apple Log 2
→ 4K (3840×2160)
→ 30fps

Log looks flat and grey straight off camera. That’s the point. You’re capturing more dynamic range so you can grade it properly instead of baking the look in and being stuck with it.

Then add a CPL filter. Cuts glare off paint and glass, adds depth you can’t fake in the edit. Swipe to the before/after. Same car, same light, same everything except the filter.

You don’t need a $5k camera to start. You need to actually learn the tool you already own.

Even parked cars need charging!

The past couple of weeks here at The Box have flown by so let’s start getting you up to speed!

We have to get the name out there and we are going old school. In person events, members nights and a whole lot of networking.

It’s working though! New storing clients, heaps of leads and building the community is one of our main passion drivers!

But with all these cars in storage we have to keep them maintained and not just by washing them. All out storage cars are now equipped with a charger. We had to go with the best and no one does it better than them.

Now all our cars are always charged and ready.

So much has happened over the last few weeks so make sure you follow along as we build out Melbournes home for car enthusiasts.

I moved to Australia from New Zealand a few years ago with $500 and no plan. Just cameras, a love of cars, and a feeling that something was possible here if I worked hard enough at it.

I’m not a developer. Not a businessman. The opposite actually, an ex tradie who’s on a mission the live the dream

And somewhere along the way I fell in love with the idea of a space where the cars are the culture. A content studio. A members lounge. Somewhere you can bring your car and actually shoot it properly.

I grew up watching Tokyo Drift wanting a place like this to exist.

So between me, Benzina Stables and Pat we are doing just that.

I haven’t been home in almost 4 years and what a way to go back to NZ!

The last 4 years have been all GO GO GO with not even a moment to think about visiting where we left.

I’m extremely grateful that a few weeks ago Pat asked if I wanted to go to Queenstown to shoot cars in the snow with BMW Australia for the BMW M Snow & Ice experience.

After heaps of planning and over 20kgs of camera equipment hauled over the ocean we got hit with a massive problem. The area that we were going to be doing the snow driving was completely off limits to any cameras or phones…. but what started as a bummer turned into a mad adventure. No phones, no cameras. Just me and my best mate drifting cars in the snow ⛄️ and not a bad way to spend my birthday!

An absolutely epic experience if anyone is thinking about doing it.

There is an event hype edit coming as we managed to get hold of the official RAW video clips which was awesome!
