Walhalla: Where History Meets the Present
A Victorian gold rush town reimagined.
Walhalla is in my neighbourhood (if you take the broad perspective). Over several visits a few years ago I scouted locations, researched historical photographs and stories, then blended past and present to create a series of ten images.
They are my tribute to a town that played an important role in Victoria’s history and remains one of my favourite local destinations.
Like many of my ideas, it took me far too long to finally write about it, but I’ve just finished a blog post on the project, the history behind the locations, and how the images were made.
