To explain and validate my perspective has always been, just 'who I am' so.....
If I was shooting a weekend job Saturday afternoon, I could never relax all day, then I spent all Sunday and my day off Monday at the computer editing, then back to my school job for the rest of the week.
Being a woman at this age, it's essential to have some rest and reset time in between the demands of life and the comittments of your profession.
Over the last 30 years and back in my studio days from the 1990's, I worked countless weekends ontop of full work weeks, so at 51, I'm yearning for slower paced Saturdays and Sundays.
By finishing up my photography gig, I can now call a weekend an actual week END.
Our young people work on weekends too, so I look forward now to being a Nanny and caregiver to our precious Grandson who will be spending alot of time, as he grows, playing in the garden beside me in my happy place on those weekends.
A heartfelt thanks to the clients who supported my photography business and kept returning for more. It was such an honour to serve new customers and continue working with the expanding families that mum and dad first photographed in the 70's and 80's.

Dad's little sepia print watches over me every time I'm at the computer, but today a 14x11" 'together' portrait, from their down town studio in the 80's sat with me.
Thought it was fitting that my last shoot was for my cousin Michael and his absolutely gorgeous family.

I'm about to wear this shirt for the last time at this afternoons photo shoot📸
I started at Thomsens Photographic Gallery in 1995 under Mum & Dads guidance and business, continued solo after they retired in 2006. Called it quits in December 2017 to pursue a calling to work with children.
Vaccine mandates saw me forced to return to self employment in 2022 under the Kimmy T Photography banner and now as 2025 wraps up, I'm retiring my camera with the exception of Grandson photos. Sneak peeks from this weekend to follow and then my business page will cease 1st January.

Back in December 2012, I photographed this cute little flowergirl at her parents wedding. Last Tuesday, I photographed her as a senior graduating student. I am so thrilled that Ella was my final formal shoot because I also captured her as a little bub in the studio. You will see some re-takes of same poses from back then to now.
