We’re excited to begin introducing some of the Shire horses here at Drayhorse Shires. When we first heard Archie’s story from his breeder, we knew straight away it was one worth sharing with you all.
❤️ A fighter from the very beginning, a favourite ever since. This is Belleview Archer (Archie’s) story ❤️
From the very beginning, Archie’s journey was far from ordinary. At just two and a half days old, he lost his mum and suddenly found himself facing a battle for survival. Thanks to the dedication of his incredible breeders, who refused to give up on him, and a remarkable foster mare who accepted him as her own, Archie was given the chance to keep fighting.
Looking back now, so much of Archie makes sense.
He has never been one to quietly blend into the background. He is always the first to greet you at the gate, the first to demand attention, and the first to make sure you know he’s there. Standing still for too long simply isn’t in his nature. He wants to be involved in everything, and if you’re nearby, he expects plenty of pats and scratches.
His quirks are part of what makes him so special. His larger-than-life personality, endless curiosity, and love of people are impossible not to adore.
But more than that, Archie has a presence like no other. He turns heads wherever he goes and has a way of capturing hearts without even trying. There is a strength and character about him that makes him unforgettable.
Perhaps it’s because from his very first days, he learned to fight. Perhaps it’s because every day since has been a gift.
Whatever the reason, Archie remains one of our absolute favourites, and we wouldn’t change a thing about him. ❤️

Their determination, care, and refusal to give up helped shape the horse we know and love today, a horse with a huge personality, a heart of gold, and a presence that turns heads wherever he goes. 🐴❤️
