Burnima Homestead from the rear, circa 1959.

This wonderful photograph shows the area where our Burnima Cottage Accommodation now stands.

In the early days of the estate, a servants’ hall occupied this location and can be seen in even earlier photographs of Burnima. Sadly, the original building was destroyed by fire and lost forever.

The cottage that now sits on the grounds is another beautiful period building that was carefully relocated here, allowing this special corner of the estate to continue its story while preserving a piece of the past.

We love looking back at these historic images and seeing how Burnima has evolved over the decades, while still honouring the rich history that makes this place so unique. 🏡✨

UPDATE 8:11 AM

A rock fall has been cleared on the Snowy Mountains Highway at Brown Mountain.

The rock fall occurred near Fred Piper lookout before 4 AM, impacting traffic.

The incident was resolved at about 8AM.
