Photographers Supporting Photographers — It’s Time We Stood Together 🤝📸
I’ve felt the need to write this lately — because it’s something I’ve lived through, and something I still see far too often.
When I started Intense Photography at just 13 years old, support was everything. I had a passion, a camera, and a dream. But instead of encouragement, there were photographers who looked down on me. I got the dirty looks, the cold shoulders, the feeling like I didn’t belong. Like I wasn’t “experienced” enough to be there.
But then… there were others. The ones who saw something in me. Who treated me not as competition, but as a fellow creative. People who inspired me, encouraged me, and made me feel proud to chase my love for photography.
So to every photographer reading this — the next time you see someone with a camera at an event:
Say hi. Smile. Be kind.
Why tear someone down when we could be lifting each other up?
It’s not a competition.
And when I say that, I mean it.
We all have a different eye. A different style. A different way of telling stories through our lens. That’s what makes this industry so beautiful. If we were all the same, we wouldn’t stand out — and we sure as hell wouldn’t have a business.
Let’s rebuild this industry into one of community — not comparison.
Let’s celebrate the fact that we all start somewhere. Because one day, your story might be the inspiration for someone else to pick up a camera.
My business quote has always been:
“One click is all it takes to capture a special moment for the rest of your life.”
But today, I want to leave you with this:
“Why let one person knock you down, when you’ve got ten looking up to you?”
I’ve never — and will never — diss another photographer or their work. Everyone brings something unique. Everyone matters.
Pictured is my journey. I want to see yours. The start and ongoing of your creative.
