Can’t promise I’m not an awkward human. (I may have said ‘you too’ to the waitress telling me to enjoy my food a few too many times 😅)

CAN promise your family photos won’t be awkward though.

They will be fun, silly, full of laughs, games and cuddles.

There are no ‘say cheese’ smiles. Only the real deal.

This is actually from a few months ago, but it still feels pretty relevant today. When you have a colicky and/or refluxy baby (or just any baby on a bad day) it’s so hard to come to terms with the incredibly limited time you have to get anything productive done.

No tips or tricks here. Just solidarity if you’re also in the hard baby stage and the chores are piling up around you. It’s rough, but it’s temporary!

This laugh. The way he would beg to be hung upside down and the ensuing wriggles and giggles. This moment in time, now forever frozen in time to be revisited. When he’s bigger than mum and dad. When he moves into his own home. When he’s bringing his own kids around for a sleepover at the grandparents. I love that photos can transport us and act as an anchor to a moment in time.

Hi, it’s me, your local family photographer!
But also mum of three who’s coming to terms with being back in the newborn trenches after a 12 year break. Unmediated ADHD, with a house full of half finished projects to prove it.

I love photographing families. I love documenting the connections and emotions of this chapter. I love making sessions feel fun and easy for my clients. And I love delivering images that take my client’s breath away.

Family photo sessions that just about beautiful photos.

Obviously providing you with a stunning gallery is my goal. But it’s not my only goal.

In fact it’s not even my number one. Crazy right?

But I know, from 7 years of experience doing this, that the best photos happen when everyone is comfortable, relaxed and having fun.

That’s where the magic happens.

And I will do whatever I can to get your family in the zone. Including act like an idiot. 😅

When your family is genuinely having a good time together then I can focus on making art, whilst you focus on enjoying each other.

So if children who don’t sit still or smile when they’re told to have been holding you back from booking a session, don’t wait any longer.

I don’t need cooperative children, I just need a family ready for fun and adventure!

I promise I’ve heard it all.

“Oh I’d love to book in but I need to wait for my toddler to be out of the feral stage”

“I really want photos of them as they are right now but the idea of wrangling them for a session stresses me out”

“Yeah I’m gonna book in once they’re a bit older and more cooperative”

And I get it! Truly!

But here’s the thing, I don’t think most parents actually know what a session with me is like. Because if they did, most of those fears would melt away.

Can your kids play? Do they like a bit of silly? Do they like time with you? Do they like snuggles? Do they like being outside? If you answered yes to even just some of these, we can tailor a session to suit your family!

Might it feel like chaos? Quite possibly. I’m not gonna lie! 😅 But if you can trust me, and lean into the chaotic energy of your children, just for an hour. I’ll deliver images that capture the incredible (and REAL) joy and love that exists in your family.

You don’t need to wait. You don’t need to put it off. Because in a year or two, MAYBE they’ll be more agreeable, less chaotic and quieter. But they’ll also be bigger and you’ll look back and wish that you could revisit them as they are NOW.

As a mum to a teen, tween and 5 month old, I feel that in my innermost soul! Trust me, if you’re on the fence about getting newborn photos just do it! Your future self will thank you!
