Always make me happy to see my photos in use! 😁
"In the tropics we face a number of challenges when it comes to keeping horses in top condition. During the summer months, heat stress is a serious concern.
Reducing metabolic heat generated in the hindgut is really important and that’s why I feed a more digestible fibre, in the way of Fibre Essential instead of feeding chaff.
My other staple feed is TruCare for its nutritional value. Hygain feeds are micronized which means that it is more readily digested (the body can utilise more of the feed so that I don’t have to feed as much) and also more palatable. In the hotter months I also add TruGain because it’s a great conditioning feed and produces very little metabolic heat. It is also essential to feed electrolytes daily, so all of my horses get Regain to replace the salts and electrolytes that they lose through sweating.
And that’s how I feed ‘COOL’ in summer." - Nicole Mutimer, Northern Territory Institute of Equestrian Sport
