The Ditmar Awards ballot has been announced! I'm surprised to discover that I'm shortlisted for Best New Talent and delighted to see that Matthew R. Davis is shortlisted for Best Collected Work with SONGS OF SHADOW, WORDS OF WOE.

I've been quietly spending hours in the zone almost every day, hand sculpting a prop to photograph for a cover I've been contracted by French Press to create for Matthew R. Davis' forthcoming novella, 'One Last Laugh in the Dark'.

I've never crafted something quite like this before, but the crafting couldn't be going more smoothly, and I'm throughly enjoying making it.
I've taken a bunch of WIP photos, but all will be revealed around the time of publication... 🖤

I've been sitting on this pre-made for a long time and decided it's going to be my start in offering exclusive pre-made covers.

Full design, typography, etc. is included, but to avoid limitations, I've not placed any sample text on the cover.

My images for this cover are original studio photographs and all elements within (smoke, colours, subject, blur, background, etc.) are real and created in camera – No stock images or stock elements.
It's a rotting pumpkin that I grew in my garden from harvested seeds, carved, stuffed with leaves and set on fire. I used RGB lighting, hence the blue tones and the enhancement of orange/brown tones.

I’m strongly against the use of generative AI and refuse to create covers for any work that produced with AI or intends to be used for machine learning. My work is 100% human crafted.

For whom it may concern, I'm among the authors and artists that still haven't been paid for work published by Graveside Press.

A few months ago, I signed another contract for artwork to be published in a different GS anthology that was scheduled for release this month.

Posts from management who are understandably stepping away describe multiple stressful situations with a consistent lack of transparency from the owner.

It's a shame, but we will wait to see what happens.
