Title: Lunch Time View. ©️ AJWatson 2025. Here, where the land exhales into the sea,
Moffat lies quiet and eternal.
The pandanus trees stand like sentinels,
their roots gripping the cliff’s green edge,
their leaves whispering secrets to the wind.

Below, the tide withdraws,
revealing a bed of stone—
ancient, fractured, resilient.
Every rock holds the memory of storms,
of salt, of sunlight spilled across centuries.

The sea breathes in slow rhythm,
a hymn to patience and return.
Waves fold themselves upon the shore
like soft conversations between time and tide.

Here, the sky leans low,
and the horizon stretches its calm hand to the earth.
This place is not just coastline—
it is a prayer made of rock and wind,
spoken in the language of stillness,
answered in the sound of waves.

Power surges through the sky over Meanjin, the ancient land we now call Brisbane. Lightning splits the heavens above the Story Bridge, its red steel frame glowing like fire against the storm. Beneath it, Maiwar (the Brisbane River) reflects the chaos and beauty of the moment, still yet alive with energy.

There’s something sacred in the clash of light and darkness here, the city’s heartbeat meeting nature’s raw pulse. Meanjin reminds us that no matter how bright the skyline burns, the sky always has the final word.

their glass and steel limbs shimmering against the indigo sky.
They lean together, whispering stories carried by the wind from the river below,
Mairwar, the slow-moving mirror that remembers every light,
every secret pulse of the city.

Their reflections dance upon its surface like old songs retold,
sisters watching over the restless dream of ,
guardians of neon and night air.
Each window flickers like breath,
each curve of architecture a sigh of recognition,
for beneath their gaze, the city does not sleep,
it hums, alive with the memory of ancient footsteps
and the promise of tomorrow.

They do not speak, yet the skyline listens.
Their glow is a benediction,
a hymn of steel and silence
to the land that was, and the river that endur

Title: The End of the Workweek ©️AJWatson25. The workweek is over. It’s been fun and hard work, but we made it. Now it’s time to enjoy the final afternoon by the pool. Sitting here in the late afternoon has got me reflecting on life.

“Life is a hotel; we all check in, we all check out.
Some stay for a lifetime, others only a night.
We meet, we part, and some departures
leave rooms in our hearts forever empty. - Aaron Watson 2025”

And maybe that’s the quiet truth we often forget: our time here isn’t measured by how long we stay, but by how deeply we live, how kindly we treat those who pass through our doors, and how much love we leave behind when it’s time to check out, or when we’re evicted from our rooms by forces beyond our control. Every encounter, brief or lasting, shapes the story of our stay. And in the end, all that truly matters is whether we made the journey worth remembering.

And maybe, just maybe, one day I’ll have a roommate to share the room with once more; someone who chooses to stay, even knowing that every stay eventually ends.
