On-Point Photography WA is proud to present Miss Lucy Carter - Heritage GEMs Australia 2026, on a journey to represent Australia this coming November 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Hailing from Geraldton, WA - Lucy is a 15 year old neurodivergent young lady, diagnosed with ADHD and level 2 autism - BUT if you met her and got to know her the way we do, you wouldn’t know.
Lucy projects herself in a very kind, loving, caring and professional manner, always striving to be a role model for other young ladies and others who are neurodivergent and suffer with ADHD / Autism.

As a part of Lucy’s journey, On-Point Photography (WA) has teamed up with her manager (and mum), Sammy Jean Carter to build a wonderful array of images, suitable for a portfolio.

Through the journey so far, Lucy has undertaken workshops and training in relation to modelling and runway process’s provided by Turning Point Models Australia, as well as taking part in a very wonderful fundraising fashion show, hosted at Batavia Brewing last month. This fundraiser saw many participants walk down the runway and model items from some wonderful local businesses. Many others behind the scenes as well.

Currently, many other people are becoming involved with Lucy’s preparations for the event in November, with so much going on behind the scenes. And to all those people and businesses, we thank you!

Currently, there are opportunities to sponsor Lucy - whether as an individual, or as a business. And as a major sponsor of Lucy, On-Point Photography (WA) is committed to further adding to the current sponsorship agreement, increasing the overall sponsorship from $500 to $1500 - which will be a huge boost to Lucy’s sponsorship and journey.

This additional commitment and further sponsorship is due to the level of commitment Lucy and her “MuMANAGER” have towards her success and participation of the event.

Lucy — The Girl Who Dared to Shine

Lucy has a way of entering a room that made it feel brighter.

She is bright, bubbly and full of energy, with a laugh that seems to arrive a few seconds before she does. She loves music, colour, fashion and anything that gives her a chance to be creative. When Lucy smiles, people can't help but smile back.

But behind that confidence was a girl who experienced the world a little differently. Neurodivergence hasn’t stopped her for one second - she throws confidence and positivity everywhere she goes.

Sometimes sounds felt louder to Lucy than they seemed to other people. Sometimes a busy room could leave her overwhelmed. Her mind raced with ideas, questions and possibilities, often jumping from one thought to another before she had finished explaining the first.

For a long time, Lucy wondered why some things that seemed easy for other people could be difficult for her.

Then she discovered something important.

Being different didn't mean being less.

It simply meant she had her own way of seeing the world.

Lucy found her confidence through modelling.

At first, stepping in front of a camera made her nervous. There were lights, people, directions and a hundred little things happening at once. But once the photographer said, “Whenever you're ready, we will take this at your pace” something changed.

Lucy stood tall.

She smiled.

And she became completely herself.

Modelling wasn't about trying to become somebody else. For Lucy, it became a way of showing other people what was possible when you stopped apologising for being different.

She worked hard. She learned how to handle nerves, how to prepare for busy events and how to turn unexpected moments into opportunities. When something didn't go according to plan, Lucy learned to take a breath, reset and try again.

Her journey wasn't perfect.

There were days when she doubted herself. Days when she wondered whether she belonged. Days when the world felt like it was moving far too quickly.

But Lucy kept going.

And slowly, young girls began to notice her.

They saw someone who could walk onto a stage with confidence while still being wonderfully herself. They saw someone energetic and enthusiastic, but also compassionate and genuine. They saw that success didn't require everyone to think, learn or experience the world in exactly the same way.

Lucy became more than a model.

She became a role model.

Whenever a young woman told her, “You made me believe I could do it too,” Lucy's smile became even bigger.

Because that was the real reason she kept stepping in front of the camera.

Not for the crown.

Not for the applause.

But for the girl watching from the audience who was still wondering whether she was good enough.

Lucy wanted her to know something she had learned herself:

You don't have to change who you are to find your place in the world.

Sometimes, your differences are the very things that help you shine.

And Lucy?

She was still shining. ✨

It has been a beautiful journey and pleasure working with you over the past few months. Watching you learn, watching you grow, watching you become a role model for other young women. Your journey continues, and so will your aspirations.
