Duneira Estate

A real life fairy tale with the most adorable little sunny nooks around the space. I spent hours here, with no other soul around. Even in winter this place held magic that reminded me of some place back home in Europe…

I love finding little places of rest in this busy world. To just sit and ponder the beauty that’s around.

What else, really, is more important…

More cool shapes on this gloomy morning.

Apparently spring will be fully here as of tomorrow, and I can’t wait to be back The Surly Goat sitting outside in the sun with my sweet girl 🐕 and enjoying this whole wonderful Dave & Vanesa experience. Because it is an experience.
A bloody good one.

I sometimes imagine how different the current world would be if social media platforms would be utilised for creation instead of consumption. Obviously, there is a level of consumption involved for the creation to be witnessed. Obviously, there is creation happening at this stage otherwise I wouldn’t be writing this paragraph.

Creation, however, in the sense of art. Of beauty. Of inspiration. Of poetry in all its shapes.

I think we might be already seeing some of this come through.

Less boss babe optimisation & ai slop.

More hand- and heartfelt stories.

More intentional, in a world that slowly (fast?!) moves into turning creations into commodities. Or at least desires to.

Real art will always be that: Real.

Stillleben.

Still life, in English. Sometimes, little corners catch my eyes. They strike me as a little world within a world. Their stillness and quiet beauty almost makes them animate - the light interacts with colours and textures and I could sit for hours staring and imagining what their stories are. And find even more charm in wrinkled wallpapers, faded lampshades and worn out chairs.

The world has so much beauty to offer.

Spring is now officially here. It was, at least. briefly. The sun came and went. The rain came and went. And came back again 😅

I love living in a temperate climate zone, I love the seasonality. Sometimes it would just be nice to mark “ah, Spring!” in the calendar, trust it and then leave the door open until autumn starts, to let all the sunshine and birdsong and breeze into my house.

By now, we all look like white sheets of paper floating around (I mean, literally), ready to become weathered and suntanned stories written into adventurous books, that then may be read by the fire again next winter.

For now: Spring, my door is open. Please come in.
