Some photos are not just about what is in front of the camera.
They are about what you are looking through.
My parents celebrated 50 years married while we were in France.
It was just a family dinner. Nothing grand. Nothing perfect. But I think those are often the moments that stay.
A table full of family. A sparkler. The sea at the end of the day. Two people who have carried a whole life together.
For some of these photos, I held a ring in front of the lens.
Not as a trick. More as a small way to photograph what the evening was really about.
Time. Commitment. Family. The strange beauty of still being there, together, after all those years.
Happy 50 years Maman, Papa.
