Although I'm not as technically minded as the amazing talents I work with today, I've always adored cars. And so, when the opportunity came along to try my hand at motoring journalism, I leapt. I began with The Motor Report as a freelancer, writing news items and, under the gu

idance of Managing Editor Tim Oโ€™Brien, reviewing new models. As a startup, opportunities with the small and dynamic TMR were appearing as quickly as its profile on the Australian motoring scene had been building. I was soon invited to join the company as a full-time employee, working both as a writer and as the companyโ€™s Art Director. The latter is an easy enough role to secure in a small business, but it's one I took great pride in. In the years since, I advanced to become Deputy Editor with The Motor Report, adding a new leadership aspect to my role, and later as Producer and News Editor with CarAdvice.com. At CarAdvice, my work became more varied than ever before. I remain a dedicated designer, but I also took great pleasure in helping to guide CarAdvice's editorial direction and its relationship with readers and manufacturers alike. I also discovered a new source of fulfillment in mentoring new writers. In February 2021, I joined Are Media in the role of Publishing Director of Digital for WhichCar.com.au and the brands Wheels, Motor, 4x4 Australia and Street Machine. As both a writer and as a graphic designer experienced with many online technologies, obsessed with finding new paths to rich engagement and efficient production, I offer a range of โ€˜all-rounderโ€™ skills matched by few in Australian automotive publishing.
