A couple of weekends ago, I had the chance to spend the morning at the beautiful Ormeau Bulldogs Australian Football Club capturing some junior AFL action 📸🏉

The day featured:
• U15 Girls Division 2
Ormeau Bulldogs vs Palm Beach Currumbin Junior AFL Club

• U13 Mixed Division 4
Ormeau Bulldogs vs Burleigh Bombers Junior AFL Club

There’s something special about junior sport — the determination, teamwork, big marks, tough contests and the pure love of the game. These kids gave it everything all day, and it was fantastic to watch and photograph.

A huge thank you to the players, families, coaches, volunteers and umpires who make local sport possible every weekend 👏

Here are a few moments from the day 😊📷

After a bit of time behind the scenes… Atkinson Photography is back.

I’ve taken the opportunity to revisit, re-edit, and refine my work — bringing everything together into a cleaner, more consistent collection that better reflects my style today.

From quiet moments to vibrant events, landscapes to street scenes… this page is a collection of what I see and how I see it.

This image felt like the perfect way to relaunch — a new day, a fresh perspective, and plenty more to come.

Take a look through the albums, I’d love to know what resonates with you most.

Taren Point, New South Wales, Australia

Three moments from the same stretch of water — from golden hour through to blue hour — each with its own mood, light, and story.

It’s always amazing how much a scene can change in such a short time.

Bambino Bougainvillea

Sometimes the best subjects aren’t far away at all.
Captured right at home, this vibrant bougainvillea caught my eye with its bold colour and delicate detail — a reminder that there’s always something worth photographing if you take the time to look.

Backyard Rose Study

Soft morning light reveals the delicate layers of a single rose in full bloom. The gentle glow through the petals highlights the fine detail and colour that often goes unnoticed in everyday moments — a reminder that some of the most striking subjects can be found right at home.

Captured with the Nikon Z30 and 50mm lens.

Brisbane Holi Festival 2025 — Rocks Riverside Park

Colour filled the air and laughter echoed through the crowd as the Brisbane Holi Festival returned to Rocks Riverside Park on the 1st of March 2025.

These images capture the spirit of the day — moments of connection, joy, and celebration as strangers became friends beneath clouds of vibrant colour. From quiet, candid expressions to the energy of the crowd, every frame tells a small part of a much bigger story.

A celebration of culture, community, and colour — exactly as Holi is meant to be.

Feel free to tag yourself or share with friends if you were part of the day!

Perched on the rugged rocks of Duranbah Beach at first light, this small but fearless resident surveys its territory with confidence.
Backlit by the soft tones of early morning, the scene reveals a world often overlooked—where even the smallest creatures carry a presence of their own.
Captured with a Nikon Z8 and 180–600mm lens at 600mm.
