Oops, I did it again — I missed another business anniversary! SIX YEARS.

Someone once told me that if your business lasts five years, it’s considered a success. But I’m calling bu****it on that — I think any time you put yourself out there and create something new, it’s a success, whether it lasts one year or one hundred.

Because it takes a hell of a lot of guts, grit and vulnerability.

Six years of it feels pretty epic.

And creating a business that evolves with me, and for me, and for the people I serve, is something I’ll never get over.

This year looks different to last.

In 2025, I was pushing myself constantly — more projects, more expansion, my biggest year yet.

But this one feels more easeful. Like the favourite sweater you always reach for when the winter chill creeps in.

Bigger, slower projects. A calendar of (mostly) return clients. And finding my way through the balance of motherhood and business.

I feel very grateful to my clients and peers who are on this journey with me. Great businesses, but even greater humans.

Thank you, to all of you, for another year of creation, expression, and showing up online in a way that feels like you.

Howdy friends! I’m back in the office (with a tiny, adorable assistant) and the year is well and truly plowing full steam ahead.

I’ve got some exciting website packages, brand shoots, copywriting and digital marketing projects lined up over the next couple of months.

It already feels like this year is going to be a year of change, growth and metamorphosis for so many businesses — with lots of people craving a move away from the sales talk and cookie cutter content and back towards communications that feel grounded, real and human.

That’s the kind of change I’m interested in supporting, and if that sounds like you, I’d love to chat. I’m currently booked up until April, but I’m keen to hear how we might work together.

I’m also working round the clock on my favourite project of watching a fresh human discover the world — and wow, isn’t it magical? The latest updates include rolling both ways, developing a delicious belly laugh and holding her feet in both hands. What a joy to witness.

There are a thousand ways to tell your story that have nothing to do with your brand colours, logo or how many followers you have.

Like the way you make people feel when they interact with you or your business.
Or the very real, daily benefits you bring to your client’s lives.
Or the thing that drives you to serve them – not making money or working hours or because that’s what you’re qualified in – but the fire that’s lit within you for this work.

Those are the parts I’m listening for. The ones I want to know about. The truthful, human-led stories that can shift culture (and your business).

I know that showing up for your brand in this age of digital overwhelm, cookie-cutter AI content and complete world destruction can be … challenging. It can feel useless. Confusing.

But you don’t have to be louder or shinier or faster to connect.
You just need to be you.

And if you ever need help figuring out how to do that – with words, images or your web presence – I’d love to help. And I promise you don’t have to do it the way anyone else does.

Hey friends 😊

For some time, I’ve been asked if I would create something that bridges the gap between not having a website (or trying to DIY your own) and a fully-customised, multi-page website.

Being able to confidently point your prospects to a website that feels professional and reflects the heart of your brand can be a game changer for your business — and most importantly, the way you feel about it/marketing it.

But that doesn’t mean that every business needs a big, expensive website as soon as they launch (or even ever).

For some people, it’s enough to have one gorgeous, authentic page with high-quality imagery and copy. Especially when that copy and imagery can be used for your social media posts too.

And in this current economic climate/sh!tstorm, I think it’s more important than ever that business owners have access to these kinds of offerings.

That’s why I’m pleased to officially announce this service — one page websites.

And to do it at a heavily reduced rate of $1,980 for July and August 2025 only.

I have two spaces available, and I’d love to work together. Shoot me an email if you’d like to team up.

P.S. If you’re after a more moody, emotive and creative type of imagery for this website, I’d encourage you to check out my other page for all sorts of dreamy possibilities.

Some warm and fuzzy feelings on this cold and gloomy Monday morning 💛 And an important note about my 2025 availability:

It’s limited! Before end of financial year, I could help you with:
✨ A brand shoot (or two)
✨ A one-page website, including copy and maybe even pics
✨ Refreshed copy for your existing website
✨ A couple of pages of brand new copy

But we’d need to kick off in the coming week to make this happen.

And for the rest of 2025, I have a week in July, a week in August and one day in September. That’s it for the year, so if you’ve been thinking about working together, now is a great time to line it up.

Have you met Dr Ash from ✨?

She’s a Specialist GP, Sexologist, Mind-Body Therapist, Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, Meditation Coach and Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician.

On top of that, she’s a warm, insightful and creative human being who is passionate about helping her clients come back to themselves and live with vitality, pleasure and purpose.

I’ve been lucky enough to team up with her on various projects for a couple of years now and here’s one of the latest — updated brand imagery.

Ash chose my newest photography package — an extended three-hour photoshoot that can take place across multiple locations and involve multiple outfit changes.

This is the option to choose if you want maximum versatility/longevity for your images as you can cover so much ground — working shots in the office, flatlays and details, hands-on work with clients, staff headshots, product imagery and/or lifestyle shots outside of your business location.

In this instance we went from Air Bnb, to lakeside, to clifftop, to beach with four different outfits.

‼️I have space for two brand shoots in June, July and August (six in total) and these will be it for 2025, so if you’d like to refresh your imagery with me this year, reach out soon.

Have you met Ashlee from .consulting ✨? She’s the creative mind behind the dynamic digital studio Arvah (and fashion line .official ).

We recently teamed up to create impactful brand imagery that conveyed the creativity and clear aesthetic of her Arvah brand.

For her shoot, Ashlee had a clear vision that was SO MUCH FUN to bring to life, playing with light, shadow, grain and textures.

We created a massive collection for her to use on socials and her website and the finished result is *chefs kiss*

I have limited spaces for brand shoots over the next few months so if you’d like to work together, reach out soon.

Somewhere in the busy-ness of last month I flew straight past a pretty big milestone — FIVE YEARS since I started Fire & Fly.

I remember when I first began someone told me that most businesses don’t make it this far, so hey, here I am.

It’s been a wild ride.

I wish I had some deeply insightful wisdom to share, or an incredible infographic tracking my journey, but honestly, I’m still in awe of the whole thing.

When I started I had one client, made $200 a week, and worked out of the camper trailer/caravan I was also living in.

I never dreamed of being my own boss.

My only goals were to do good work for good people, make enough to live comfortably, and work no more than four days a week.

But I’m stoked to say it’s given me so much more than that.

Running a business has been the biggest learning curve of my life. It’s taught me about myself — what I believe in, what I’m capable of, and how I want to live.

It’s shown me where my strengths and weaknesses lie, encouraged me to follow my creative passions, pushed me out of my comfort zone more times than I can count and introduced me to some of the most kickass humans I’ve ever met.

I’ve worked with not-for-profits and governments, doctors and healers, artists and musicians, psychologists and s3xologists, and so many more.

I’m constantly amazed by how people show up in the world, how they serve others, and how they continue to strive for something new and different and better, even in the face of adversity.

So that’s where I’ll leave this, with my most heartfelt thanks and awe to the clients who have invited me to be part of their journey over the last five years. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I think you’re all just bloody magic.

A friend and I were having a business chat over hot chippies yesterday and she relayed her trouble in ‘finding her voice’ when it comes to her website and socials.
This friend works in health and regularly writes clinical, formal reports.
But that’s not the tone she wants to use in her brand writing (even though she wants people to understand the level of her clinical experience).
Because one of the most wonderful things about her is how warm and personable she is, the way she makes complicated ideas seem simple, and how she connects on a human level with her clients.

My advice to her was this:

✨ Meet/chat with a friend and tell them what your business/service is all about. Take note of the way you talk — are you excitable and fast-paced? Serious and methodical? Whimsical and dreamy?

✨ Know your audience — survey your clients, review your testimonials and pay attention to the language and phrases your clients use. It’s crucial to find language and tone that resonates with them. You’ll find commonalities even with a broad audience.

✨ Test copy by reading it out loud. Does it feel stilted and uncomfortable? Are sentences longer than feels natural? Are you using jargon you would never really use in-person?

✨ Acknowledge the audience in your copy to snap yourself out of overly formal, impersonal writing.

✨ Reflect on your values and brand story. If your brand prides itself on its longstanding legacy of old-fashioned service, you probably won’t be using slang.

✨ Use AI with care — it’s tempting to use AI to form the basis of your copy but if you don’t have an established brand voice (and the skills to get AI to leverage this) then you can be left with generic copy, even if you rewrite it. I recognise that ChatGPT makes writing more accessible to people who don’t have those skills or the budget for a pro so sometimes, that’s what’s available. If so, use it mindfully.

✨ Practice, practice, practice. It’s not going to be perfect right away. Keep getting it wrong until you find what feels right for you.

And if it still feels not like you, a copywriter can help – even seeing how they tackle smaller pieces of copy can be a game-changer.

Have you met the delightful Dana from ? ✨

She helps businesses save time and grow smarter with strategy, automation, and tailored solutions.

What struck me most about Dana is her genuine and heartfelt desire to support her clients. She really gives a damn about the people she works with and she wants to see them succeed.

She’s also really funny and kind and a blast to be around. Dana and I recently teamed up to refresh her brand imagery and I don’t think we stopped laughing the entire shoot.

We wanted the shoot to reflect her brand and personality - down-to-earth, engaging and part of the community.

During our time, we were able to visit three locations (her home / office, the local cafe and one her favourite places — the beach). This gave us plenty of diversity in imagery, whilst still maintaining a consistent mood and aesthetic.

👉🏽 If you’d like to create some imagery that feels like you, I have space for two brand shoots in April and I’d love to chat.
