Meetup is on at the darkroom this month. 6:30 today Wednesday 9 September. All levels of film photography experience are welcome bring some of your film shots to share and talk to other film photographers. Prints, laptop, tablet, they just need to be shown on something bigger than a phone. Show and talk about anything that you have been shooting IRL rather than just on socials. Lots to see and do at Coburg Makers Market () this weekend (25-26 July). I’ll be there shooting traditional film portraits for you and your family (including the four legged members!). Prices start from $50 and that will be on the top floor. We have also organised an exhibition of work produced by photographers that we know which has not made it to the final round of various art prizes and competitions called Rejected. That is on level two along with the usual stalls and artist open studios to see. Ground floor will be filled as usual with stalls of goods handmade by local creatives! 69 Charles Street Coburg North. Sat 11-4 Sun 11-3. Stop in and say hi!

An exhibition celebrating the photographs that never made it to the gallery wall. Artworks which have been rejected from various exhibition submissions.

July Meetup is back at the darkroom this month. 6:30 today Wednesday 8 July. All levels of film photography experience are welcome bring some of your film shots to share and talk to other film photographers. Prints, laptop, tablet, they just need to be shown on something bigger than a phone. If you have some results from the night shoot last month it would be great to see them, but show anything that you have been shooting. Also, if you have a stack of filters that you have no use for because they don’t match your current lenses, bring them along and see if you can swap for ones that are the right size. Photographers, Rejected is an exhibition celebrating the photographs that never made it onto the gallery wall.
We know you put time and care into making work and sometimes sadly, it isn't selected for exhibition. That doesn't mean it's not good. It doesn't mean the judges didn't like it. Often, it's simply not the right fit or the right time.

June Meetup is going to be a chance to get out and take some night shots. Rug up, load up, bring a tripod or some fast film and meetup under the clocks outside Flinders Street Station at 6:30 this Wednesday 10 June. Message on Insta if you need any details. All levels of film photography experience are welcome but you will either need a tripod and a cable release or some fast film and a fast lens! If you are new I’ll be rocking my black F2, come and say hi and shoot the night.

Meetup is on for May this Wednesday 13th at District Darkroom. Come along and share any film derived photography that you have been doing. Chat with other photographers, bring prints, scans on your laptop or tablet etc, just show your film shots on something bigger than a phone. All levels of experience are welcome. This meetup we will also look at how to matt your prints for framing and presentation. District Darkroom is at 69 Charles Street Coburg North, 6:30pm. Turn up and come up to the top level.
