my inspiration to starting photography and helped me relate so well to all the families that come through my door, from

first time parents to those with children of varying ages. As a mum, I remember how quickly that newborn phase flew by, and just how important it is to capture these memories and freeze time on all those perfect little details. I am a professional award winning photographer that has been specialising in newborn photography since 2013. I also teach newborn photography workshops both locally and internationally. I am based in Port Noarlunga, South Australia and hold sessions in my boutique home studio.

Almost every family walks through the studio door wondering…

“What if my baby won’t settle?”

“What if we’re doing everything wrong?”

One of the biggest worries parents tell me before their session is…

“What if my baby doesn’t sleep?”

The truth?

Some babies sleep the entire session.

Some stay awake for most of it.

Some do a little of both.

Beautiful photographs don’t depend on having a sleepy baby.

They come from slowing down…

Following your baby’s lead…

And creating space for whatever your little one needs that day.

Every session is calm.

Every session is baby-led.

I wonder if this mum looks at this image and sees a newborn.

Or if she simply remembers how it felt to hold her baby this close.

Because that’s the beautiful thing about photographs.

They don’t just remind us how life looked.

This little baby is much bigger now.

But I can guarantee these parents don’t look at this photo and see a newborn.

One thing I hear almost every session…

“I was worried my baby wouldn’t settle.”

And honestly?

Most parents arrive feeling a little nervous.

Whether it’s wondering if baby will sleep, if feeding will go to plan, or if they’ll make it out the door on time.

That’s completely normal 🤍

My job isn’t just taking photographs.

It’s creating a calm, relaxed space where you can slow down, take a breath, and simply enjoy these early days with your baby.

The photographs come naturally from there

This beautiful little girl was 16 days old when she came into the studio 🤍

One of the biggest misconceptions about newborn photography is that you’ve missed your chance if your baby is over two weeks old.

The truth is, every baby is different.

Some are wonderfully sleepy at 7 days old.

Some are wonderfully sleepy at 16 days old.

And some are wonderfully sleepy at 6 weeks old ✨

There isn’t one perfect age for newborn photos.

What matters most is preserving this fleeting season before it changes.

Those tiny fingers.

The sleepy stretches.

The way they fit so perfectly in your arms.

Because before long, they’ll be onto the next stage 🥹
