Arriving at Bowral Station we left the Picnic Train R766 steam locomotive. We took a short walk to the Tulip Festival, and wow… what a beautiful sight! 🌷🌷🌷 So many gorgeous colours and flowers everywhere. Definitely worth the visit.

After exploring the festival, we headed to The Royal Hotel in Bowral for lunch — and the food was just as beautiful as the flowers! 🍽️🌷

🚂🌷 A Day on the Picnic Train – Central to Bowral 🌷🚂

Last Sunday, Mark Davidson, Kym McEwen, Marie and I jumped aboard the Picnic Train from Central to Bowral behind the magnificent steam locomotive R766.

We travelled Lounge Class, bringing along our own picnic food and settling in for a wonderful day of exploring, chatting, eating and enjoying the nostalgia of travelling by steam train. 🚂

And of course, we couldn't just sit in our seats! We explored the train and discovered some pretty interesting treasures along the way… including a fold-up copper wash basin complete with rusty water and a loo that doesn't flush — but you can actually see daylight underneath! 🤣🤣
Let's just say it was definitely an experience!

Kym was also having a bit of fun with his camera, taking some hilarious photos around the train — including somehow getting monkeys into the pictures! 🐒🤣

I'm still not quite sure how the monkeys managed to sneak aboard, but Kym certainly made our train adventure even more entertaining!

Arrived at Bowral for a beautiful tour of the Tulip Festival and lunch at the Royal Hotel Bowral.

Then it was back to the station for our 3:30pm departure, climbing aboard the Picnic Train for the relaxing journey back to Central.

A fantastic day filled with steam, flowers, food, laughter, funny photos, imaginary monkeys and great company. ❤️🚂🌷

Sometimes the best adventures aren't about how far you travel… it's about the people you travel with, the laughs you have and the memories you make along the way. ❤️

🥾🌿 MANGROVE MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE 🌿🥾

Another adventure, another beautiful corner of NSW explored! ❤️

Today we headed to Mangrove Mountain, hiking up to Mt Olive Lookout before continuing along the 248 Trail.

The bush was putting on a spectacular show, with wildflowers everywhere — but finding this stunning Waratah was definitely one of the highlights! 🌺📸

And then came the views… 😍 Sweeping across the landscape towards Sydney, with the Bahai Temple making an appearance in the distance. Definitely worth stopping the feet and grabbing the camera!

There’s something pretty special about walking through the bush, discovering unexpected beauty around every corner and collecting a few kilometres along the way.

Another trail conquered, another adventure ticked off, and plenty more memories made! 🥾🌿🌺

🌌 My First Astro Photography Adventure! 📸✨

Well, I finally stepped out of my comfort zone and had my first go at astro photography! 🌌

Standing underneath a sky absolutely packed with stars and capturing the Milky Way for the first time was pretty special. There was definitely a lot of “Am I doing this right?” going on behind the camera! 😂

It's not perfect, but that's not really the point. It's my first attempt, it's a new skill, and I'm learning every time I pick up my camera. 📷

From landscapes to wildlife, street photography and now the night sky… apparently I'm not very good at sitting still! 😂

✨ One more new photography adventure ticked off the list.
And I'm definitely going to be giving astro photography another go! 🌌⭐

🥾 Another walking adventure in the books! 🚶‍♀️🌿

Walked 12.7km from Gosford Sailing Club to Woy Woy, enjoying beautiful scenery, fresh air and plenty of laughs along the way! 🌊☀️

By the time we reached Woy Woy, lunch was definitely calling, so we stopped at the The Bayview Hotel for a well-earned feed. 🍽️

Then we caught the train back to Gosford… only to discover we still had another 2km walk back to the car! 😂

That brought us to a very respectable 14.7km for the day! 👣🔥

Walk. Eat. Train. Walk again.
Because apparently we hadn’t tortured our legs quite enough! 😂🥾

🐾 WOODY MEETS WALLY! 🦘😂

Well… this was awkward! 🤣

Woody the Dachshund has finally met Wally the wombat, and I’m pretty sure Woody is trying to work out why someone left a hairy football with legs in the backyard! 😂

Woody: “Mum… is this a dog? 🤔”
Wally: “Mate, I’m a wombat.”
Woody: “Right… and what exactly is a wombat?” 😂
Wally: “Something you probably shouldn’t try to chase!” 😎

There were plenty of suspicious sniffs, a whole lot of staring and absolutely ZERO agreement on who was boss! 😂

By the end, Woody had learned two important things: Wally is not a dog… and apparently wombats don’t appreciate being barked at from 10 centimetres away. 🤣

Friendship status: complicated. 🐾😂
