We have put up both episodes of our Flinders Ranges trip for a few years ago. We'd love it if you had a look and let us know what you think.

Actually, it's a re edited version of one we did for the family....not the general public, so it might have a few boring bits 😬

Hope you like it.....re editing this was something to keep me from getting bored during lockdown and I hope it helps you in a small way too!

Happy Australia Day everyone.

I guess it means something different to others, but for us, it is a celebration of living in this great country, with great people.....people of all backgrounds and beliefs.

How lucky we are to have the life we have here........and I hope you are having a great day wherever you are.

Managed to get our tinny in the water (probably first time since early 2020) last week for a run around Brisbane Water. Went to our favourite spot but there were already a few boats anchored up, so ended up in Waterfall Bay (which we also love).

Plenty of water running down the creek so we got out and had a bit of a look around, then headed down to a sand flat for lunch and a swim.

It won't be12 months before our next trip!

G'day everyone,

Well, after 18 years of Xterra Kayak Adventures, I have made the difficult decision to close the business down.

A combination of the bush fires and floods late 2019/early 2020, followed by the covid fiasco forced all of my clients to shut down and consequently I had no one to take on tours for nearly 6 months.

I now have a 'real' job, working for Drifta Stockton (Camping & 4WD) at West Gosford. I've been buying Drifta products for over 12 years and jumped at the opportunity to work for them......thanks James Hordern and Luke Sutton.

To every person I have had the pleasure to take on a kayak tour, I thank you for trusting me, I thank you for making Xterra into something I was proud of. There are some people who have supported me strongly for many years and from the bottom of my heart I thank you all.........Paul Hewittson and Dave Stewart from Mirage Sea Kayaks, Kevin Lever and Norm Gray - my very first customers, Jen Woods from Northholm Grammar, Ian Wood from Barker College, Tennille Cu***ng, Peter Blanch, Dan O'Dell from Oakhill College, Tim Porter from NPWS (Ku Ring g*i Chase) and his amazing crew of volunteers, Nick Carson and Matt from Central Coast Council - all of whom stuck with me for many years......there are more......but thank you everyone.

As you can see, I've kept the page going but have changed the name to Escape With Hakka & Chrissa. I want to go back to some of the things that are special to me.....writing, photography and videography. I'll be making videos of our adventures, as well as showing the photos I take, maybe some stories and poetry. I have an creative side that has been suppressed for such a long time.....and I feel like a better person when it's up on the surface with me.

I sincerely hope you'll stick around on this page and see where it leads!

Who's up for a free kayak tour?

Central Coast Council are running two tours this week (for free).

The first one is on Thursday 12th March. Enjoy a morning kayak down Spring Creek, lunch, followed by a gentle (flat) afternoon bike ride around Budgewoi Lake.

The second one is on Saturday 14th March and is a kayak tour at Chain Valley Bay South, exploring the bay and Karignan Creek.

Both tours are FREE - include lunch and all equipment (kayaks and bikes)

I know it's been ages since I posted here, so please accept my apologies for that.

I've been working with Central Coast Council (and Environmental Education Officer - Nick Carson) for around 5 years now, running tours to showcase what council is doing to protect and enhance our waterways. I find it a particularly enjoyable part of my business, and learn something new everytime we go out.

Yesterday (Saturday 16th November) was a pretty hectic day, running two tours as part of the Lakes and Budgewoi Festivals.
We guided 34 people around Budgewoi channel and Lake Munmorah showcasing the amazing work council have done in re-establishing areas of salt marsh and a healthy foreshore.

I have made a short video of the day to show how much fun we had and to encourage anyone else out there to join us on one of the 'FREE' tours coming up in the next 3-4 weeks. Bookings can be made at https://www.centralcoast.nsw.gov.au. Click on the EVENTS tab and scroll down to you see the kayak trips.
Upcoming dates are 30th Nov, 3rd Dec, 11th Dec, and 14th Dec.

Here is the link to the video....hope you enjoy it.

This is the first of the bronze expeditions for NGS this year. Great weather, though we could have done with better tides. But......we still managed to get our paddles in. Beautiful scenery, stunning river.....what more could you want.

Had a great night around the campfire and playing games. Well done guys.
