Happy International Women's Day!

I loved compiling this little graphic with pictures of some of the amazing women I've had come through my studio in the past year.

I started Portraits By Steph (a side venture to Little Grasshopper Photography) so that I could spend more time and focus on working one on one with people. Specifically women. I wanted to create an experience for Canberra women that would help them feel beautiful but more importantly feel comfortable in front of the camera so that I could capture their energy, personality and do so in a way that felt extremely genuine and authentic.

I've had the wonderful experience of seeing a woman transform into a version of herself that she herself didn't even know existed. There's this amazing moment that happens in every session where she is so relaxed, happy and being her true authentic self and I'll take a photo and look at the back of the camera and be like WHOA! WHO IS THAT?!!

I'm excited to be working with many more women over the next few years as I build this side brand and help more women embrace their inner confidence and shine.

Can you remember a time when someone took a photo of you and you saw it and thought "I'm just not photogenic." Maybe you didn't know what to do with yourself and you felt stiff and awkward.

Injecting authentic personality into portraits like the ones you see below has one major requirement before I even take the photo, my subject needs to feel comfortable and at ease.

People often say to me "I'm not photogenic!" to which my reply is, it's not your job to be photogenic, you just need to trust me, relax and have fun.

If you're relaxed and having a good time, you'll look amazing.

Trying to figure out if I'm the right photographer for you? I might not be!

I get it. You have choices when it comes to hiring a photographer!
You'll never hear me say I'm the right photographer for everyone.
I'm not!

In fact, I'm quite particular about the clients I work with. It's so important to me that we're on the same page. Only then can I create my very best work for you.

My portraiture style is best described as traditional with a touch of glamour. I'm all about capturing your emotion and expression but adding sensuality and beauty. My goal for you is to capture portraits of you that amaze you, reveal to you the best version of yourself, but still remains true to who you are.

If that sounds amazing to you, then you and I will also be a superb fit if you’re a little bit quirky (like me) and you’re after a photographer whose first priority is to make you feel comfortable first, and then work together to capture a collection of gorgeous photos of you while staying authentic to who you are.

I had the immense pleasure of photographing superstar Holly from Bo***ir Queen.

It's so incredibly humbling and special to see these women going through this portrait experience. A lot of them walk into the studio feeling nervous, uncertain... Not sure what to expect, for sure!

But they walk out with a terrific smile on their face, giving me a warm hug that speaks louder than words ever could.

I see they are beautiful; the whole world sees they are beautiful.

When they walk out of my studio. They feel they are beautiful.
