Yes I'm watching you....... Scarlett Robin.

Just one of those mornings

This little Scarlet Robin had me completely mesmerised. Full of attitude and absolutely unwilling to sit still for more than a second, he certainly made me work for the shot.

But I like to think that, for this brief moment, we both paused, taking in the beauty of the surrounds before he was off again. Sometimes nature has a way of reminding us to slow down, even if only for a heartbeat.

A recent visit to Namadgi National Park showcased some of Australia's beautiful birdlife.

With its diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife, Namadgi is a paradise for birdwatchers, photographers, and anyone who enjoys spending time in nature.

Fungi - Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, ACT

Ventured out to Tidbinbilla this morning with Peter Reichstein from 50 Eight Photography in search of fungi. Armed with tripods, lights, cameras, and macro gear, we managed to capture a few little beauties along the way.

It's amazing how much beauty can be found in such tiny subjects. With a bit of patience, lighting, and creativity, these small forest treasures can be brought to life.

A fantastic time of year to get outdoors, explore, and try something a little different.

Meteors / Comet / Orion

Last week whilst capturing Comet C/2025 R3 (PanSTARRS) alongside Orion, the western skies put on an incredible display with a plethora of meteors streaking overhead.

This image is a collection of 4 frames combined into the main composition, highlighting the extent and intensity of some of the larger meteors that graced the sky while I was imaging the scene.

Moments like these are what make nights under the stars so rewarding you never quite know what will appear in front of the lens.
