PALMS.
As winter starts to settle in Australia, here’s a bit of warmth. Growing up French in long, grey, cold winters, I’ve always been obsessed with palm trees. Synonymous with tropical beaches, sunshine, warmth. Here’s a few I’ve come across from the Gold Coast, South Australia and locally around Sydney.

The Gold Coast is more than Surfers Paradise. It’s a lifestyle.
Earlier this month, I spent a few days going up and down the coast (and getting stuck in tram works traffic more than once) capturing the vibe. The palm trees. The lifeguard towers. That gorgeous aqua water. The surf, the sunrises, the sunsets. More pics coming soon. 😍🌴🩵

Austinmer Rock Pool. Twin pools carved into the rock platform at the southern end of Austinmer Beach. At high tide the ocean pours over the edge and the whole thing comes alive. Open since 1914. Free. Year round. No excuses.

Malabar Pool has lived a few lives.
Once a go-to swimming and picnic spot in the 1920s, it was later left abandoned as pollution made the water unsafe. For decades, this stretch of coast sat quiet.
It wasn’t until the deep ocean outfall in 1990 that things shifted. By 1997, the pool was restored and reopened, finding its way back into daily beach life, like it was always meant to.
