So what an exciting afternoon in Brisneyland yesterday. I found it incredibly refreshing to see so many younglings both exercising their critical thinking & freedom to exercise their free speech while still having the capacity to do so. & to any youngling out yesterday, Brizzy or nation wide, that scrutiny & rampant criticism is because you're doing the right thing, wear it with honour.
I honestly thought saying something like "Pauline Hanson hates kids" would've boiled down to a bad joke, evidently I was wrong. & to the PHON branded scrutineers telling these kids to go back to school, I've seen the comment section & y'all probably should've stayed in school. We had one lone dropkick yelling abuse at the crowd, he left, came back, hurled more abuse (can't have been anything too intelligent but I didn't hear what) before being escorted off.
We also had a handful of Turning Point/Pro-"Life" with their large printed "Abortion is Murder" signs trying to get a rise out of rally-goers, being a student protest most youngsters aren't familiar with how to deal with menaces such as hecklers, protagonists etc, but Rule 14 of the internet: Don't feed the trolls, it means they win.
I was actually asking around about them after the march when I heard them agitate the student crowd enough to get a reaction out of them, they were eventually escorted away, but not before we started a chant of "Charlie Kirk was a piece of s**t"
One innocent youngster I was talking with afterward was in awe of the police presence, which was pretty tame in comparison to recent months/years.
tl;dr, there's hope for the future yet. Link in comments
