Feeling very relieved with our decision to call it a lap and not head to North QLD...we hope all that are up there stay safe and as dry as possible!!

THAT'S A WRAP.
With the horrible weather conditions in North Qld & Gulf we have decided to end the adventure early. We were very fortunate to complete Cape York in 2016.

Some stats to share:
* 6 months fulltime on the road
* 37,500kms travelled
* 6,000 Litres diesel, $8,750
* Most expensive fuel - $1.99 Uluru
* Fuel average 16-22L/100 - Varied due to weather,roads,etc
* Best tour - Swim with Sealions - Port Lincoln
* Best beach - Cape Range National Park
* Breweries visited - 294
* Wineries visited - 9
* Beers consumed - Enough to build a 6.5m aluminium boat
* Car cost - 3 services, new tyres & timing chain $3,300
* Caravan cost - 2 services $750
* Best App - Wiki, Fuel Map, Spotify
* Most used items - BBQ & Engel in the car
* Wished we had - Washing machine & coffee machine

We stopped keeping budgets and records of our spending early into the trip. We spent 80% of the trip in caravan parks and enjoyed many tourist activities.
During the journey we saw some amazing places and met some sensational people. There were hard days - 46 degree days towing the van up mountain ranges and there were easy days but we made the most of everyday.

Now back to reality; school, work and a bedroom with a closing door & a toilet that doesn't need emptying.
Thanks for following our journey and hope some were inspired to get out there and see this amazing country.

After departing the ACT we made a quick detour via Bathurst...Followed by a another quick stop in Parkes...
