It’s been a while, but I made a spontaneous trip to Lake Moogerah last night. For the astro peeps, I dusted off my Star Adventurer for the first time in probably 5 years 😅 a bit rusty, but it was nice to feel the chill under the sky again ❄️

🌚 This guy is stopping me from my usual astro photography, so I decided to shoot it instead. Learned today that the darker spots on the surface are richer in iron deposits 👀

This is my crispest lunar image to date, consisting of 6 seperate stacked images stitched together. A total of ~ 3000 video frames were used to make this image.

Continuing my trend of photographing stars / clusters…This is Gacrux, the top star of the Southern Cross 🇦🇺. It’s roughly 760x brighter than our own sun, but only 30x larger in diameter. It was almost difficult to shoot as it created heaps of flaring through my scope 🔭
