“You can’t go back and re-photograph the day they made you a mother.”

This is me. Years ago, heavily pregnant, standing in the middle of everyday chaos. I’m glad I have this printed snapshot, but every time I look at it, a part of me wishes someone had been there to capture the quiet gravity of what my body and heart were actually going through.

I didn’t get the professional documentary images I deserved back then. I didn't get to see the soft glow of the room, the raw, beautiful strength of my posture, or the deep, cinematic shadows of that fleeting season.

That’s exactly why I became a documentary photographer. I shoot births, maternity, and newborns so that you don’t have to look back at blurry, average snapshots. You deserve to see your history preserved as the moving, high-art masterpiece it truly is.
