'LUMINARIA' - PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD WINNER Ballarat International Foto Biennale
Wow! I can scarcely believe this, but thank you so much to everyone who voted for my exhibition. I have been overwhelmed by the response.
This, my very first public exhibition, would not have eventuated were it not for a wonderful group of people behind me. Ian Kemp, my friend and mentor who has always had such confidence in my work, pushed me into this and I'm so grateful to you, Ian. x
A huge thank you to Aeterna Lab printing, Bear Looms Framing, Daniela Barth of Spicers, the owners of Grainery Lane for the perfect venue, and the lovely staff that I've dealt with personally, Tom, Blessmore and Marie, my goregous models, Charli, Indi, Tahlia and Tess, all local Bellarine beauties, my beautiful surgeon, Andrew Newcomb who repaired my damaged heart, and my husband and son who were so supportive throughout doing things I should have, like cooking dinner and cleaning house. BTW, my husband scaled the four metre high walls to hang my images, a job I couldn't have done.
Finally, but most importantly, my deepest gratitude to my amazing, talented, strong, intelligent, organised and incredibly loved daughter, Dr Nicola Kelly who modelled for me (Lady Macbeth, Madonna, Anne Boleyn) did hair and make-up for all the models, kept me on track throughout and was the driving force that kept me going. I don't know if I would have made it without her. What a woman she is and how lucky I am to have her. I'm so very proud of her.
