Lately I have been trying to play it less safe.

It’s easy to stick with what I know, what works, what’s comfortable.

Allowing myself the space to fail, to try something new knowing it might not work out is how to keep growing.
Here I played with slow shutter and it was also my first time using artificial constant light. It was a huge shift after always aiming for the perfect focus to then deliberately be chasing a softness. I wanted to create something more abstract yet still unmistakably feminine and maternal. I had first imagined these in a classic black and white but then ended up loving the warmth the light cast.

Taking a moment to truly appreciate this beautiful shot of Dominika .doing ✨

I couldn’t bring myself to discount such a special image by turning it into a reel. It felt like it deserved its own place here.

When I look at this image, I see her as she really was in that moment — calm, strong, and beautifully grounded.

It’s both vulnerable and powerful: the human form rendered as art, yet grounded in something deeply real.

Her gaze is lowered, not withdrawn but inward — calm and connected.

There’s a harmony here that I keep coming back to — the tones, the simplicity, the stillness of it all.

Nothing trying too hard, just working together.

Such an honour to capture her in this chapter — right on the cusp between maiden and mother 💕

When does a picture of the body become art, and when is it just another naked photo?

For me, the answer is through light, shadow, and intention.

It’s through creatively using light and shadow to carve the body into art, the same way an artist studies a figure for a sculpture.

Every choice matters.

Where the light falls.

The curve it traces.

How shadow hides or reveals.

These choices are intentional.

And together, they create something more than just a picture.
