5 things every family should know before a photoshoot 📸
1. You’re more photogenic than you think
Your photographer will capture you the way your loved ones already see you. There is so much beauty in the ordinary, everyday moments - a loving glance at your partner, a laugh shared with the kids, the little expressions you don’t even realise you make. These moments become the memories you’ll cherish for years to come.
2. Your kids don’t need to behave perfectly
Some of the best photos come from movement, laughter, and connection - not static posing. Kids will be kids, and family photographers have seen it all!
3. It might feel awkward at first and that’s ok
It’s normal to feel a bit unsure for the first few minutes. A great photographer will build trust quickly and help your family feel at ease.
4. You don’t need to know what to do
Family photographers are prepared with a variety of prompts, games, and activities up their sleeve - you’ll often forget you’re having photos taken!
5. There’s magic in the imperfections
It’s ok to take breaks as you need them. Chaos, interruptions, and imperfect moments all add richness to your gallery and they often create the most meaningful photos.
Extra tip: Bring your kids’ favourite treats (small, bite-sized ones are best) or a favourite toy to keep spirits high. A post-session ice cream run is always a nice incentive too!
Save this before your next family photoshoot ✨
