Rainbow Lorikeets (Trichoglossus moluccanus)

A few Lorikeets enjoying a Fishtail Palm snack. Their colors and chatter make it impossible to ignore them.

Moments like this are why I love being out in nature, a simple reminder that everything is connected and relies on each other.

Quokka (Setonix brachyurus)

Quokkas are such characters and always a joy to watch.

Even though they are small and common on some islands, they remind me how much personality there is in the wild.

New Holland Honeyeater (Phylidonyris novaehollandiae)

Caught this one flitting through some flowers. They are nearly impossible to photograph properly.

They might be common, but watching them reminds me how busy and alive our native bush actually is.

The Pacific black duck (Anas superciliosa), commonly known as the PBD, is a dabbling duck found in much of Indonesia, New Guinea, Australia, New Zealand, and many islands in the southwestern Pacific, reaching to the Caroline Islands in the north and French Polynesia in the east. It is usually called the gray duck in New Zealand, where it is also known by its Maori name, pārera.

Kookaburras are terrestrial tree kingfishers of the genus Dacelo native to Australia and New Guinea.

The genus Dacelo was introduced by English zoologist William Elford Leach in 1815. The type species is the laughing kookaburra. The name Dacelo is an anagram of alcedo, the Latin word for a kingfisher.

Thought to have originated in northern China and neighbouring areas, this rodent has now spread to all continents except Antarctica, and is the dominant rat in Europe and much of North America. With rare exceptions, the brown rat lives wherever humans live, particularly in urban areas.
